#1: Google AdSense
Google AdSense is for those who already have a blog running! So if you want to make money through Google AdSense, you should consider starting a blog today. It’s so simple to start.
What is Google AdSense? They are the advertisement banners created by google which are displayed on people’s websites.
Once visitors click these banners, they are taken to the various web pages where they can take relative actions, such as buy products and services.
When visitors click on these advertisement banners from your websites, you stand to make money. Google Adsense can be a money-spinner for you if your websites already record a lot of steady traffic.
Another interesting thing about Google AdSense is that it is so easy to set up on your blog or website.
All you need to do is sign up for a free Google AdSense Account. It doesn’t require any money to set up. No maintenance or running charges at all. This is why it’s pretty cool to consider signing up for it!
Once you sign up, Google will provide you with a unique code. You will take this code and paste it to your website, and that’s it!
From then on, after pasting the code to your site, you leave the rest of the job to google to track your page views, traffic and how much money you generate through the unique clicks of the google banners on your blog or websites.
You can make as much as from $50 a month to $1,000 or $5,000 a month without lifting a finger through Google AdSense. Just imagine how financially fulfilled you can be making that additional income just by incorporating Google AdSense on your website!
#2: Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is another money spinner among online businesses you can venture into as a budding entrepreneur. It requires little or no start-up capital.
What is affiliate marketing? It is referral marketing. It is a type of marketing where you earn a commission or a percentage of the product or services if people eventually buy the product or service through your referral effort.
It is a process of partnering with producers and companies to recommend their products to other people online so that you can earn a commission when people buy through your referral.
Wikipedia defines affiliate marketing as ‘a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate’s own marketing efforts.’
The moment you sign up to become a partner to a company or producer, to refer their products to others, you become an affiliate to that company or product owner.
According to Neil Patel, affiliate marketing is ‘based on revenue sharing. If you have a product and want to sell more, you can offer promoters a financial incentive through an affiliate program. If you have no product and want to make money, then you can promote a product that you feel has value and earn an income from it as an affiliate marketer.’
Neil Patel went further to define affiliate marketing as ‘the process of earning a commission by promoting other people’s (or company’s) products. You find a product you like, promote it to others and earn a piece of the profit for each sale that you make.’
Affiliate marketing becomes more interesting if you promote products related to your interest or niche which your blog already educates people about.
For instance, if your blog revolves around workouts and fitness, it is easier to promote products and services in that niche, because you will have confidence in such products.
As long as you know your audience and can generate enough traffic – especially the traffic that you keep consistently engaged, you can make a lot of money from affiliate marketing.
I know people who make as much as $100,000 in affiliate marketing because they have become experts in the niches that they blog about. You too can start today and work your way to the top.
In fact, experts in affiliate marketing say if you are not making money through affiliate marketing, you are leaving money on the table.
Keep in mind that one important advantage of affiliate marketing is that you don’t have to wait to create your own product before you start making money online. You can promote other people’s existing products and services and keep the money rolling in.
#3: Write and Sell An E-Book
What is an ebook? According to Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, an ebook is ‘an electronic book, also known as an e-book or eBook, is a book publication made available in digital form, consisting of text, images, or both, readable on the flat-panel display of computers or other electronic devices’
Writing an eBook is one of the easiest and interesting ways to make money online these days. With a computer and a word processing software, you can become the author of an ebook almost overnight.
Anum Hussein in her article on blog hubspot describes an EBook as follows: “Ebook is short for “electronic book,” and uses either a computer, mobile device or ebook reader to display long-form texts in book form. Ebooks have multiple digital “pages” that people can navigate through, and are often packaged as a PDF document so they can easily be sent from one user to another.”
Jordan Whal also defines an eBook as “a non-editable, reflowable book that is converted to a digital format to be read on any digital device such as computer screens or mobile devices.”
An eBook can come in various file formats, such as Portable Document Format (PDF), Electronic Publication (EPUB), AZW is the file type designed for kindle, OpenDocument Format (ODF), which is OpenOffice document such as Microsoft office.
If you have been writing good content for your blog, over time, your blog content can easily be converted to eBooks which you can sell to generate some passive income.
Ensure that you choose your eBook topic to match your audience needs. That way, you can write with authority and confidence.
Your eBook doesn’t have to be too voluminous. As a matter of fact, successful online entrepreneur, Stefan James says many best-selling eBooks on Amazon are surprisingly not more than 30-100 pages!
Stefan James also says in his article on how to write a book and sell online, “I’ve discovered that what actually SELLS better on Kindle is NOT a lengthy 200+ page book that you would sell for $9.99 or $19.99…. but rather a short, 30 to 100-page book that you can instead sell for $2.99 to $4.99.” He added that “people are more interested in buying a SERIES of books, rather than an “all-in-one” type book that is 200+ pages.”
You can sell your eBooks on your website directly to your visitors and start making cool cash from it.
You can also sell your eBook on Amazon, which already has large online traffic in their millions.
#4: Create Content For Other People’s Websites
Another good way to generate income online is to write articles for other people’s blogs or websites as the case may be. This is what we refer to as creating content for other people.
Recently, a website owner called my daughter to ask if she could create consistent content for his blog for a fee, and they both discussed the terms of service. This is a great way to make money without investing so much into it.
All you need as a content creator is a computer and internet connection, and you are good to go!
Even if you are not yet a professional content creator, you can work your way up to becoming one, by doing constant research and reading other blogs written by professional content creators.
If you are an avid reader of blogs and articles, especially in your niche or area of interest, you will always be a reservoir of information anytime you are asked to write an article. So ensure you constantly read and research so that you can become a good content creator
You can also provide sponsored blog contents for companies and organizations. Sponsored blog contents are a form of content you create for brands, products and companies, to advertise their products and services.
According to Ryan Robinson, in his article How To Make Money Blogging, sponsored content “is when a company pays you a fee in return for you writing an article that’s either about them—or on a topic related to them, where their product, service or brand is prominently featured as the go-to resource for those of your readers that want to learn more.”
If you find enough website owners for whom you can create consistent content, you can make as much as $500 to $1,000 a month, depending on how proficient you are.
#5: Rendering Skillful Services
Another way to make money online is to deploy your skillset to render services to people. This is one of my best recommendations to would-be online entrepreneurs.
Over the years, I have developed a number of skills; and with each of these skills, I gross a six-figure income annually. Some of those skills even give me seven-figure earnings yearly! This is why I am a passionate advocate for skill acquisition.
Even with a college or university degree, I encourage people to acquire at least a skill and become a professional through constant use of it.
A skill is defined as ‘the ability to do something well; expertise.’
According to Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, ‘A skill is the ability to perform an action with determined results often within a given amount of time, energy, or both.’
Another word for skill is ‘expertise’. Don’t only learn something. Become an expert at it. People don’t mind to pay experts handsomely to render services for them.
An expert is an authority in any field of endeavour. Expertise is always on high demand all over the internet. So, you must hone your skills until people see you as an expert.
Once you become an expert, you can charge fees like an expert!
Examples of online-related skills that can bring you steady income are:
- Website design & maintenance
- Apps design
- Graphic and logo design
- Search Engine Optimization for companies and brands
People with skills can never go hungry if they know how to harness their skills to render services to other people. Time invested in developing skills is never wasted because it will yield rich dividends in terms of monetary rewards.
Online-related skills will always make you a game-changer where financial freedom is concerned. If you have developed any such skill in the past, it’s time to polish the skill and turn it to a money-spinner.
Your skill sets can give you a monthly income from anything between $200-$1,000, depending on how many clients you work with!
#6: Create An Online Course
When it comes to creating and selling online courses, Ryan Robin says, “If you’ve excelled at something, there are people out there who would gladly pay to benefit from your expertise and accelerate their learning curves.”
This takes me to another excellent way you can create an online income, which is creating and selling online courses.
An online course is a series of curated content or knowledge conducted over the internet to add value to the learner by increasing their learning curves.
An online course imparts knowledge or skills to the learner or student.
With this in mind, you can answer this question: “What can you teach other people in any area where you’ve excelled or where you’ve used your expertise to add values to others over time?”
It can be curated knowledge in written form or recorded on video, where your intention is to teach people what you know that can also make them become an expert like you.
That is what an online course is all about.
What makes online courses very interesting is that they are being offered via websites and students can view them on their mobile devices anywhere they are.
Online courses are self-paced, and the student can view their progress because the program is often on a study-as-you go basis.
So how much money can you make from your online courses?
It’s Action Time!
Now over to you.
Which of these 6 ways do you currently practice or do you plan to venture into? Leave your comment below.
